Doom Shareware and PatchesI couldn't have done this page without OldDoom.com. Don't have Doom? Try the shareware version. Download it here. Unfortunately, there is no shareware version of Doom 2. If you have a Linux or Unix operating system, click here to get a Linux or Unix Doom source port. I have no idea how to use them, I only have Windows.
I've gotten these patches from OldDoom.com, and he's gotten them from Excelblue's awesome patch page. To find out what version of Doom you have, open it up and it will say on the top of the loading screen. Or use The Iwad Verifier by LichSoft Software (recommended). I saved the Doom 2 zip files in C:\Program Files\Games\doom2\patches and used the patches in the doom2 folder. It isn't that hard to do. Want to buy the full version of Doom or Doom 2? I am told that you can find the lowest prices at Half.com. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
